Introduction
At Ballicom Limited, we are deeply committed to addressing the pressing challenges of climate change by actively reducing our greenhouse gas emissions. Our goal is to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2030, ensuring that any carbon emissions we produce are fully offset by initiatives that remove carbon from the atmosphere, such as reforestation and advanced carbon capture technologies.
To reach this ambitious target, we have developed a comprehensive Carbon Reduction Plan that outlines specific actions and targets across our operations, supply chain, and product offerings. This plan focuses on reducing emissions at every stage of our business, from energy use in our facilities to the sustainability of the products we sell. We will also invest in high-quality carbon offset projects to compensate for any residual emissions that cannot be eliminated.
Achieving this significant reduction in emissions will require the collective effort of our entire company. We are committed to regularly measuring, reporting, and refining our progress toward our carbon reduction goals. By taking decisive action, we aim not only to minimise our environmental impact but also to inspire others in our industry to follow suit and contribute to a more sustainable future for all.
Commitment to achieving Net Zero
Ballicom Limited is fully committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2030, reflecting our dedication to sustainability and responsible business practices. We recognise the urgent need to address climate change, and our goal is to eliminate or offset all carbon emissions from our operations, supply chain, and products.
To meet this ambitious target, we are implementing a comprehensive Carbon Reduction Plan that includes transitioning to renewable energy, enhancing energy efficiency, and prioritising sustainable sourcing. We will also invest in credible carbon offset projects, such as reforestation and carbon capture technologies, to neutralise any remaining emissions. Ballicom’s core Tier 1 OEM, are constantly monitoring their Carbon offsetting in impactful ways – by reviewing emissions, from fuel use, electricity, supply chains and travel in their manufacturing activities.
Our commitment extends beyond compliance; it is a fundamental part of our business strategy. We will regularly monitor, report, and adjust our actions to ensure we stay on track to reach Net Zero by 2030. Through these efforts, we aim to lead by example and contribute to a more sustainable future for our industry and society.
Baseline Emissions Footprint for 1st Jan – 31st Dec 2023
Ballicom Limited’s baseline emissions footprint for the year 2023 serves as the foundation for our commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2030. During this baseline year, our total carbon emissions amounted to 12.0032 tCO2e, encompassing both direct and indirect emissions across our operations.
-
Scope 1 Emissions:
We recorded 0.0000 tCO2e under Scope 1, as we have no identifiable sources of direct emissions from fuel combustion, company-owned vehicles, or on-site processes. -
Scope 2 Emissions:
Our Scope 2 emissions, primarily from purchased electricity, in total 0.018 tCO2e. This reflects our reliance on grid electricity to power our facilities and highlights the importance of transitioning to renewable energy sources to reduce our carbon footprint. -
Scope 3 Emissions:
The majority of our emissions, 11.9663 tCO2e, fall under Scope 3, which includes: - Staff Commuting to Work: Emissions from employees traveling to and from our office.
- Staff Commuting to Customer Sites: Emissions related to business travel.
- Upstream Packages: Emissions associated with the transportation and delivery of products and materials from suppliers.
- Downstream Packages: Emissions from the transportation of goods to customers.
- Work From Home: Emissions generated by employees working remotely.
This baseline provides a clear picture of where our emissions originate and will guide our efforts as we implement our Carbon Reduction Plan to meet our Net Zero target by 2030.

| Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations. | |
| Ballicom Limited’s Baseline Emissions are calculated in terms of Scope 2 – UK Electricity emissions. Ballicom’s Environmental, Sustainability, and Carbon reduction sets out our ambition to be a leader in the sector. It sets out what we will do to enhance and recognise where we are in making a positive environmental contribution while minimising environmental harm. We will look beyond just carbon and ensure our wider environmental and social contribution is a positive one. We will take action where we can to enhance our environmental performance, from phasing out avoidable single-use materials and reducing waste generation. This strategy sets out a challenging set of commitments that will require us to change how we go about our business. To achieve this, we will need to examine and reassess our decision-making processes, innovate, and change our ways of working. It will require us to collaborate with our customers, partners and supply chain while ensuring we support new innovations that we need to realise a fully sustainable future. | |

Emissions reduction targets
In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.
There has been an increase in emissions in the year 2022 as the UK came out of the lockdown and our business went into normal operations of serving from the office and servicing clients. Although an increased activity means an increase in emissions, we have started studying and implementing remote help procedures to reduce visits to clients, which is a major contributor to our emissions. We have now introduced Teams for meetings and secured remote connections for online technical help. We estimate this will reduce our visits or journeys to clients by at least 80%.
Moreover, offering and incentivising staff by encouraging the use of public transport for office journeys. This past year there has been an uplift in travelling due to vendor conferences being presented internationally.
Introduce recyclable schemes within the office for waste and addressing quarterly on these numbers.
Reducing and completely controlling printing of documents to ensure no paper wastage.
Ensuring these are included in our staff policies and adequate training provided to the staff on recycling and emissions.
Carbon Reduction Initiatives
The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2023 baseline. The carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes and the measures will be in effect when performing the contract
| 2023 | We will baseline carbon emissions across our operations. | Business | Improved understanding of our environmental impact |
| 2023 | Address Supply Chain and their Carbon reduction strategies. | Business/ Operations | Lower carbon emissions. |
| 2023 | We will agree and adopt common standards for managing energy use | Operations/ Procurement | Defined standards. Lower carbon emissions. |
| 2024 | We will be able to demonstrate an active influence carbon emissions from those we work with. | Business Operations Procurement | Feedback from suppliers that they are giving greater consideration to carbon emissions. |
| 2025 | We will assess the effectiveness of the carbon strategy and identify opportunities for improvement. | Business | Updated objectives and evidence of continual improvement. |
Ongoing Carbon Reduction Initiatives
The following have been implemented and are ongoing:
- Travel mileage reduction such that home and hybrid working is supported where practical to reduce travel. We currently have 7 colleagues WFH and we embrace homeworking contracts.
- Senior Management have been offered electric cars and onsite charging points.
- Awareness-raising where environmental awareness training is being delivered.
- Cycle to work scheme
- Continued procurement of energy supplies from renewable sources.
- Continued decarbonisation of heating systems.
- Increased reuse and recycling of consumables.
- Rationalisation of operational activity and infrastructure spaces.
- Review of available operational activity-based greenhouse gas datasets and move towards improved data quality.
Ballicom achieved ISO14001 Certification, in early 2025 and will be committing to the Woodland Trust. The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2023 baseline:
- Office Lighting – Automatic movement sensor lighting installed.
- Use of office electrical equipment e.g., copiers, printers, PCs, kitchen equipment – Employee awareness of personal control measures. Copiers/printers automatically go into sleep mode when not in use. Other office equipment switched off after use.
- Hot water – Use of energy efficient water heater in kitchens (point-of-use boiler). Regularly serviced and descaled. Regular weekly monitoring.
Our supplier assessment will also be consistent with our vision for achieving Carbon reduction and we will, on an annual basis assess their supply chain and their activities, to ensure they are in synergy with our goals.
